ALEX
COLOMA: A MAN OF COMPASSION
Charity Fay
The first thing I observed about him when I first saw him
was his being assertive. He was presented in front of the
assembly at the Baguio Church of Christ: for the church
to vote for or against him to be the Associate Minister.
He waved an optimistic hand – as if he was assured
that he would be accepted – indeed, he was. His positive
assertion that very moment influenced me to raise my hand
in agreement.
Thereafter, he became a close friend to Ems ( my husband)
and me for he married sister Brenda Coloma, my spiritual
sister. After his mission in Iloilo, he decided to form
the Baguio Mission Team where we partnered for Central Baguio
Church of Christ’s existence.
For more than a year, I saw his passion and zeal for the
Lord’s Gospel. He knows how to get people’s
hearts through his wit and humor. And his persistence gave
fruits to all his efforts and sacrifices, as the leader
of the team.
More than anything, I am touched by his compassion for people.
Many times, I personally witnessed how he gave to needy
persons even when it meant “walking for him to get
home.” That is how generous he is.
I am one of those countless people he helped. I feel so
blessed for knowing a brother like him. I do appreciate
much what he did; even the smallest things meant a lot,
for he did them wholeheartedly.
Kuya, I may not have expressed how much I appreciate you,
for everything that you did, please let this short message
say it all: Thank you for everything.
Keep on touching people through your compassion. God bless
you, ate Bensh, Nikko, and Adrian.
