MARCH
for Christ in Palawan

great challenge has been overcome with the success the Lord
has given to the MARCH team in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan
on October 22-27, 2004. On its 25th mission, the March for
Christ conducted a three day medical and dental mission
with thousands of people from different towns and barangay's
came to the coliseum to be treated and blessed by the word
of God.
MARCH,
as an aid and support to evangelization programs of local
churches and missionaries in various parts of the country,
treats approximately a thousand patients a day in one mission.
It has an average of 95 volunteers consisting doctors, dentists,
pharmacists, nurses, evangelists and counselors who extend
help through healing, distribution of medicine, invitations
for bible study and counseling. They were able to treat
2,668 patients in two days.
The
mission is not only to treat people but also to encourage
them to strengthen their relationship to God. Jesus Christ's
own personal ministry was accompanied by healing and counseling.
Representatives from World Bible School Philippines made
a campaign in the area and enrolled at least 652 names who
are very interested to study about the word of God.
The
MARCH mission team did a great job! They are very passionate
and accommodating to the needs of the patients, and were
able to form bonds with the volunteers during free time.
We all left the place happy in hopes that with God's help
we shall soon reap a good harvest in Palawan.
The
people who make this mission possible are the following:
Chito Cusi, MARCH President for 4 consecutive years; Atty.
Catalino Pepi, Executive Vice President; Dodoy Sameon, Vice
President for Luzon; Richard Emperado, Vice President for
the Visayas; Felix Olidan, Secretary; Renato Austria, Treasurer;
Shemer Sameon, Auditor; Dr. Lorigrace Austria, Medical Director;
and Helen Carranza, Mission Coordinator. Major support was
provided by Bread For A Hungry World based in Richland Hills,
Fort Worth, Texas, USA with Larry Buck as their special
representative, and Eddie Poblete, who served as the president
of MARCH for 10 years.
