A
year ago, we brought in a dozen orphans caused by a landslide
that buried a whole community in Guinsaugon, Leyte, Philippines.
One of the girls (Mylde Orbizo) lost her parents, four brothers
and three sisters. She also lost her home, farm, and all her
earthly possessions. All she had was the clothes she wore to
school that day. Last month, we brought in her only surviving
family member, JR, and nine other new orphans from Leyte.
We provide them food, housing, education, clothing, allowance
and among other things. Last year's group did exceptionally
well and some even excelled in academics and athletics. They
are housed in campus with their own newly built home where they
live together. The boys live in a separate building from the
girls. Most are 14-17 years old.
We are looking for partners to help us continue this program.
